Intermediate English class is designed for students who have mastered phonics and have become emergent readers. At this stage, they have command of a significant number of high-frequency words and are developing a much better grasp of comprehension strategies. Given these, the students are provided with lots of opportunities to make use of these strategies through carefully selected reading materials. The said materials would allow them to go through the four stages of reading comprehension: Understanding, Analyzing, Applying, Analysis and Evaluation.
